This room is so very old and quiet. I can feel the ancient fibers push deep within my back. The ceiling, with its glaring white squares, looms upon me like a beast of folklore. Spreading my arms wide, as if Jesus were crucified on this very carpet, I wait for a lance or a set of claws or some kind of medieval weapon to plunge itself into this cavity containing my most squishy organs.

There is a great vacuum of noise here, an all-encompassing silence that threatens to drown me in its undiluted resonance. Like, monsoon waves, each sound of nothingness crashes upon my being and reverberates, resulting in washed up existenc
