Hi guys! Just a quick note (since one actually got on our main comments page (at the club account) and I'm REALLY hoping no one clicked it) there is currently a phishing scam going on, posting phishing links and comments on people's pages after you click it (we got one on our main page here, so I wanted to alert and advise anyone who might have clicked it out of curiosity).

I have seen a LOT of variations on this stupid phishing thing (and the links you're clicking even look legit- some with blogspot addresses, etc.). If something is telling you to "Click Here", don't do it. Flat out. The best thing to do is to reply and let your friend know that they were hacked so they can change their stuff. It's friend-specific on here, via watchers, so spread the word!!

I cannot stress this enough: PLEASE if you have comments like these on your page, click "Hide" or "Flag as Spam" so that this virus cannot be further spread. More and more users are clicking the comments, so don't leave them visible!! I'm getting the word out as much as i can (following paper trails you could say) so PLEASE hide these comments to keep dA safe.

If you recieve a comment saying "Hey. I think i saw your picture on this website/blog here CLICK HERE", don't click on the link.
Pass on the message if you can.
DO NOT click on the link. It will take you to a fake dA login page which will steal your login details if entered.

If you receive a comment like this, MARK IT AS SPAM using the Mark as spam button on the comment. This will alert moderators to it and will also hide the comment it so others won't be caught out.

So please don't be clicking anything like that. If you already have, go and change your password because your account has been hacked. I don't want to start any panicking, but your information will be stolen if you've clicked this, so change your info for safety. This stupid phishing thing also reposts the link from your very own account to your friend's page, so if you see/get these comments, mark as spam and hide them please.

As always with internet phishing safety, check the address bar EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. you click a link you did not personally type in. I've seen ripoff sites that have looked EXACTLY like the myspace main page, facebook, etc. but the address in the bar is usually something completely different (or looks similar) to the actual site. These sites are designed to trick you, so be a little savvy



Seriously, enough with the bitching on Daily Deviations. I am so sick and tired of people bitching and flaming art that has been given a daily deviation just because they don't like it/agree with it/etc. Send a notice to the admins if you've got a problem with it. But i personally have zero qualms about ripping people a new one who just spread hatred and negativity on other artists artwork. I think ^Hanratty-Stock put it most poetically:

If you don't like it then tough fucking shit. The photographer probably doesn't like your shitty fan art, photography, art etc but they don't tear you to hell.

i love the community but when the douchebags come out of the woodwork it's time to kill it with fire.
